\/><\/figure><p>La hipertensi\u00f3n arterial, com\u00fanmente conocida como \u201cpresi\u00f3n alta\u201d, es una de las condiciones m\u00e1s comunes y peligrosas a nivel global, a menudo llamada &#8220;asesino silencioso&#8221; porque el aumento de la presi\u00f3n no presenta s\u00edntomas evidentes hasta que provoca complicaciones graves, como enfermedades card\u00edacas o accidentes cerebrovasculares. <\/p><p>Si bien muchos son conscientes de factores de riesgo como la obesidad, una dieta inadecuada y un estilo de vida poco saludable, se conoce menos la conexi\u00f3n entre la inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica de bajo grado y la presi\u00f3n alta.<\/p><p>Dentro de este proceso, algunas mol\u00e9culas inflamatorias, como el Metilglioxal (MGO) y el BAFF (B-cell Activating Factor), desempe\u00f1an un papel importante, ya que contribuyen a mantener un ambiente inflamatorio que agrava la presi\u00f3n arterial.<\/p><p><\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-stackable-blockquote href=\"https:\/\/www.geklab.com\/es\/metilglioxal-un-nuevo-marcador-de-variabilidad-glucemica\/\">metilglioxal<\/a> (MGO) es una mol\u00e9cula producida durante el metabolismo de los az\u00facares, especialmente durante el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geklab.com\/es\/inflamacion-por-azucares-y-glicacion\/\">proceso de glicaci\u00f3n<\/a>, cuando algunos residuos azucarados se unen a las prote\u00ednas. Este proceso se acelera por el exceso de az\u00facares refinados y carbohidratos de alto \u00edndice gluc\u00e9mico. El <strong>MGO es un potente promotor del estr\u00e9s oxidativo<\/strong>, capaz de da\u00f1ar las c\u00e9lulas endoteliales que recubren los vasos sangu\u00edneos. Cuando el endotelio est\u00e1 da\u00f1ado, las arterias se vuelven m\u00e1s r\u00edgidas, favoreciendo el aumento de la presi\u00f3n arterial. Adem\u00e1s, el MGO promueve la inflamaci\u00f3n, induciendo la activaci\u00f3n de otras citoquinas proinflamatorias. De este modo, el metilglioxal juega un papel central tanto en los mecanismos que dan origen a la presi\u00f3n alta, conectando el exceso individual de az\u00facares no solo con la diabetes, como estamos acostumbrados a pensar, sino tambi\u00e9n con la presi\u00f3n alta.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>BAFF (B-cell Activating Factor)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geklab.com\/es\/baff-una-molecula-con-muchos-roles-por-que-medirla-y-como-gestionarla\/\">BAFF<\/a> es una citoquina principalmente conocida por su papel en la regulaci\u00f3n del sistema inmunol\u00f3gico. Sin embargo, el BAFF tambi\u00e9n tiene funciones que van m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la inmunidad. Se secreta tambi\u00e9n desde el tejido adiposo, comport\u00e1ndose de hecho como una adipocina, y participa en la regulaci\u00f3n del metabolismo y la sensibilidad a la insulina. La producci\u00f3n excesiva de BAFF en el tejido adiposo puede contribuir a la inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica asociada con la obesidad, que a su vez es uno de los factores de riesgo para la hipertensi\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, el <strong>BAFF estimula una respuesta inflamatoria sist\u00e9mica que puede agravar el da\u00f1o endotelial<\/strong>, facilitando la rigidez arterial y aumentando la resistencia al flujo sangu\u00edneo.
